Streamable HTTP MCP transport support
August 7, 2025
At Supermachine, we host your remote MCP servers so agents can actually do things. We’ve always hosted SSE MCP servers. Starting today, we also host Streamable HTTP MCP servers—so you can pick the transport your client prefers without changing your workflow.
Why add Streamable HTTP hosting?
Streamable HTTP is the MCP transport designed for modern web clients and clouds. Many clients and SDKs are adopting it, so adding hosting here means your agents can talk to more servers with less friction.
What’s new in Supermachine
Two transports, same platform: Keep your existing SSE-hosted servers; launch new ones with Streamable HTTP in the same project.
Simple URLs: Every hosted server still gives you a URL you can drop into compatible clients.
Works with the clients you use: Claude Desktop (via Supergateway), Superinterface, Cursor, Zed, LibreChat, Goose, and more.
Backward compatibility
Nothing changes for your current setups. SSE-hosted servers keep working exactly as before. Streamable HTTP is an additional option when you create or upgrade a hosted server.
What’s next
The MCP ecosystem is trending toward Streamable HTTP. We’ll keep tracking client/SDK updates and continue expanding our audited server catalog so your hosted servers stay compatible and easy to plug in.
